Summary:

It's January 2017 and Shane is still dating Rose Landry. After a solid week of feeling off and under the weather, Rose convinces Shane to see a doctor before he takes the ice in the Montreal vs. Boston game that night. Finding out he's pregnant definitely wasn't on his bingo card. He vows to tell Ilya that night, despite the fact the Russian has been ignoring his attempts at reaching out. But then, Ilya goes down on the ice after a hit from Comeau and doesn’t wake up. It is in that moment that Shane realizes two things: he’s in love with Ilya and Ilya is also in love with him. Why else would he have Shane on his list of people to contact in an emergency. Getting that call from Cliff Marleau was not how Shane anticipated his life going, but here he is and he has some big decisions to make, with or without Ilya.
