Summary:

The Russian New Year tradition of "burning wishes" involves writing a wish on paper, burning it as the Kremlin clock strikes midnight, putting the ashes in a glass of champagne or other drink, and consuming it before the chimes end, all within seconds, to make the wish come true. It's a popular ritual symbolizing releasing intentions for the coming year, often accompanied by toasts and family gatherings as the new year begins. Ilya Rozanov has everything he's ever wanted.
