Summary:

“Shit,” Shane said. He grabbed Ilya's arm and lifted it so he could lean in and smell his armpit. The scent was intoxicatingly strong but it was also different than usual. It was subtle, an extra richness on top of the usual familiar notes of almond and tobacco. He would have noticed the change if they'd been around each other more consistently but he was only just getting used to having his alpha's scent all over him again. But now that he knew to look for it, there it was. “Are you in rut?” *** Shane and Ilya are looking forward to their second summer spent at the cottage together. Ilya's rut makes those plans look a bit different.
