i don't really like this fic but i am being soo brave and posting it so that it stops HAUNTING me. a month and a half ago i said to myself "oh wouldn't it be fun to write one of those texting-media fics where shane hollander is zendaya challengers" NO IT WAS NOT FUN ACTUALLY IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT.

there are some authors in this fandom who are doing amazing things in the alternative media space and this is my meagre contribution to the genre. after trying it myself i can say i will probably never again write a texting-only or epistolary fic because i miss my narrative voice and i am not very good at this level of show-not-tell, unlike some of the geniuses writing text-only fics. however this was a fun writing exercise and i feel a little bit smarter afterwards. only a little bit.
