Montreal Fucked Up

by constantstateofcrisis

Summary

What exactly happened in the first game between Ottawa and Montreal after they suspended Shane for being in a relationship with his "arch rival".

Well no one really know what was said but the commentators were very excited about the outcome...

(I just realised i posted this without a summary and its been like 5 days...oops)

Notes

So i have so many ideas now after writing part 1 it's kind of spiralled - this might not make complete sense if you haven't read part 1 but it should be clear enough

Montreal Fucked Up

Commentator 1: A big game tonight, Montreal Voyagers versus Ottawa Centaurs. A first since the video of Captains Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov leaked their secret relationship to the world.

Commentator 2: And tonight the Voyagers are once again playing without their captain as he is still suspended. Fans have speculated about why he is still suspended when Rozanov came back as soon as they had a meeting with the commissioner, many wondering if Hollander will be here with the team tonight to support them. What do you think Tony, will we be seeing the captain off the ice tonight?

Tony: I'm not too sure he would, Greg. It seems like this suspension has come from within the Voyagers team instead of the commissioner. If I were Hollander, I would not be here to support the team. Especially after everything he's already done for them, if they have suspended him for this scandal that is.

Greg: I have to disagree, I think he loves that team, you really can see it in how he plays, and I would hate to think something like this is why he's benched.

Tony: It's an incredibly large step backwards for the league if that's true, undoing a lot of the work Scott Hunter has done since he came out. I for one hope they did not do that, and I look forward to seeing how the Voyagers fare without their star player and captain against the Centaurs. Could this be a turning point for both teams?

***

Greg: And here they come. The Centaurs skating onto the ice to a much more excited crowd than they have had previously. Captain Ilya Rozanov really changed this team up and made them nearly unstoppable.

Tony: He really has Greg, and they are an amazing team that’s reignited the hope and passion of their fans. They have a lot of people cheering for them now, even more since the news of Hollander and Rozanov came out, fans wanting to show their support for their captain just as much as the team has.

Greg: Now you can hear the booing from the Centaurs fans as the Voyagers make their way onto the ice, they’ve never been popular here in Ottawa but it seems much worse now. If you’ve seen online, a lot of fans across the league have been up in arms about what the Voyagers are doing with Hollander.

Tony: It’s clear they have fumbled this situation, maybe even beyond redemption. As we know captain Shane Hollander is not playing tonight, not even on the bench with the rest of the team, Still suspended for a situation Ottawa seems to have paid no more attention to other than to solidify their support of the LGBT community and their captain's relationship.

Greg: Something Montreal does not seem to want to do.

Tony: No they do not. And their treatment of their captain speaks volumes.

Greg: Much louder than the lack of statement from the team.

Tony: Indeed.

“Shane, this is Caitlyn Drykstra and Selena Chouinard,” Cassie introduced the other two women in the room as she all but dragged Shane into the friends and family room.

“Hi, I’m Selena, It’s lovely to actually meet you!” The Short Blonde woman said, “The boys are absolutely going to kill it today and Montreal are going to lose without you.”

“They better, I put a decent amount of money on that outcome, hi, I’m Caitlyn.” the other woman cut in, “Here I got us drinks, Evan said Ilya told him you only drink Ginger ale so this one is yours and we also have like a shit ton of champagne if you want some of that too.”

“Thank you,” he replied, taking the drink, "it's great to finally meet you both too”.

“Come on, let's go sit down, and we need to take a photo, the one with the jerseys.” Lisa said, leading them to the large opening where they could see the teams heading out onto the ice, Cassie already setting up her phone camera.

“Okay so we need to face away from the camera but also look at it so you can see the names on the back but also our faces, got it?”

There was a series of agreeing noises and Cassie set the timer rushing back to the group before the shutter sound filled the room.

Tony: Look at that, Greg, the Ottawa Centaurs friends and family room being shown on the big screen now, it looks like they’re all showing off their jerseys supporting husbands and boyfriends.

Greg: The support from family means so much to the teams when they are playing, and it seems like even Hollander came to support and get into the spirit wearing a Rozanov Jersey. I guess that’s what the Voyagers get for not letting him play.

Tony: The black and red definitely suit him better I think. Maybe one day we could get them on the same team outside of an all-stars game.

Greg: That would certainly make for an absolutely unstoppable team, and would likely be the worst nightmare for the rest of the league, not to mention Montreal, we are already expecting today's game to be very competitive given the high stakes. Whoever loses today will be knocked out of a chance at being in the playoffs this year, you can really feel the tension both in the crowd and on the ice.

Tony: There have been rumours of a potential trade deal behind the scenes of Montreal involving the captain and that’s why he still isn’t even on the bench, let alone playing. But a trade definitely hasn’t stopped them putting players on the ice before. If you ask me it’s one hundred percent got to do with the Rozamov situation.

Greg: As much as I don't want that to be true, I would have to agree with you there. Looking back at recent Voyagers games there has been a bit of tension within the team seemingly directed at Hollander, even before this all came out. It’s truly awful how everything went down and I do feel for the boys, it must be hard for them with everything going on.

Tony: It really must, but I would like to say, I for one stand with them and support them, as long as they are happy that is all that should matter. Even if it was a terrible way for this to get out I hope they both know how many youngsters they are inspiring, bringing confidence to and representing simply by being themselves, and that is beautiful and amazing.

Greg: I couldn’t have said it better myself, Tony.

***

Tony: Well that was certainly an interesting first period, the voyagers are here to win and prove themselves after benching their captain and facing a lot of backlash around it.

Greg: and the Centaurs are out for blood in this game taking no prisoners and leaving no survivors. I guess they really will support their captain no matter what, and that is the kind of team you want behind you.

Tony: I couldn’t have said it better myself Greg.

***

Greg: OH, and that’s Boodram from the Centaurs punching Comeau From the Voyagers, I wonder what was said I couldn’t quite see from here but it looked like Comeau whispered something to Boodram that earned him a few punches there, officials are stepping in to separate the fight-

Tony: And there goes Comeau’s teeth! Knocked out clean by the look of it by Boodram’s knee getting miraculously high there and slamming into Comeau’s chin. That’s gonna hurt, I’m sure whatever he said to deserve this treatment must have been bad.

Greg: Here comes Drapeau from the other side of the ice heading in to join the fight, and he’s heading towards new guy for Ottawa, Troy Barrett, and ouch, that’s a bit of an illegal move there from Rozanov, lifting his stick just high enough that Drapeau skates into it face first going full speed.

Tony: Say what you will about this new team but one thing is for sure, they have each other’s backs. Even Barrett in his first game for the centaurs, though he looks eager to stay out of the fray this time, a new look for him.

Greg: If we look back up to the Families of the Centaurs they seem to be very enthusiastic about this fight, it's good to see they have just as much love for the game and their husbands teammates as the team themselves. Hollander looks a bit shocked but I believe that is a look of satisfaction as Rozanov took out Drapeau.

Tony: There are going to be quite a few penalties for this one I think, yep there we go Boodram and Rozanov both off the ice for 5 minutes each, Comeau and drapeau don’t look too good but are also being given penalties as well, that’s also 5 minutes each for them. And they should probably be getting checked by the team doctor, they are looking much rougher than Boodram and Rozanov.

***

Tony: Holy shit, Greg! Did you see that? I think that was the best goal I have ever seen in my entire career.

Greg: That was a fucking amazing shot from Rozanov! Not sure if it will count as a goal though but my god was it a good one if they allow it.

Tony: I have never seen anything like it before, you can really tell Rozanov has it out for his boyfriend's team just by the way he is playing tonight. Shooing the puck into the goal and watching as it bounced off Voyagers' Goalie, Miitka's, helmet and into the net.

Greg: fucking amazing shot. And they are allowing it! This is without a doubt one of the best games I have ever witnessed.

Tony: I hope Miitka is okay, he hasn’t stood up yet so he might be injured. Oh, no there he is, it seems like he was just in shock from that amazing double kill from Rozanov there. Scoring Ottawa’s third goal of the game in the final seconds of the third period and securing Ottawa’s first win in I don’t even know how long, and showing up the team that has treated his boyfriend so badly over the past couple of weeks even after committing his entire career to them.

Greg: Ottawa win! And against Montreal! They are known as one of, if not, the best team in the league but you can already see they are falling apart without Captain Shane Hollander to carry the team.

Tony: Montreal are out of the play-offs. No more games this season, but Ottawa are in! The whole team is out there on the ice celebrating and who can blame them.

Greg: Ottawa Centaurs triumph over Montreal Voyagers three-to-one, with two goals being scored by Centaurs Rookie Luca Haas, and the third by Captain Ilya Rozanov. Voyager’s only goal tonight being scored by Hayden Pike.

Tony: A great game all around and even better for the young Rookie Haas, you can see he will be one of the best players in the league, just you wait!

The commentators were still shouting excitedly in the background when Shane and the wives left their private room to meet the team in the locker room, and he couldn’t be happier. Despite watching the team he still was technically a part of be completely torn to pieces and lose, he couldn’t have wished this outcome form a better team than Ilya’s.

They deserved this.

Ilya Deserved this.

And this would make Shane’s plan to propose to Ilya tonight even more perfect.
