I don’t even have time for writing anymore these days and yet as a sport-lover I have been ENSNARED by this whole universe and here I am?!

Note: I just want to give a heads up warning here that this story addresses themes of sexual harassment. This primarily happens in a story line that is secondary in this fic, but that arises from Rose’s locked folders (because hockey drama cannot be the only thing to come out of a whole iCloud hack). This story also involves themes relating to the inherent sexism in targeting women in personal/private hacks in order to access private and sexual content. Neither of these is the main focus of this fic – this is a ‘Shane and Ilya get caught up in a hack/leak’ fic – but to say that these themes do swirl the narrative.

I’ve put together a summary of the image sleuthing that’s been done of the places in the Hollander & Landry selfies from #LandryLeaks so that you don’t have to. (1/7)

@imgfactr and @photosnoop have to almost absolute certainty matched up features in the background of the images of Landry and Hollander on the couch and with the kitchen in the background that prove that these photos are taken in the SAME house. The light fitting in the background of the couch picture matches the placing of a partially cut-off fixture in the background of the kitchen selfie, almost certainly meaning these are connecting rooms in the same residence. @wonderenhance, @lenalanapetrova and @remaphotography have done great work cleaning up the image with the mysterious dog. That is taken in some kind of large living room. The style and angle of the light through the windows in this room almost certainly means it is NOT the same house as is shown in the couch and kitchen photos. This we can be 95% sure is a DIFFERENT place to the other two photos taken inside. (3/7)

@rodgerlarocque is a genius and a bonafide Montreal foodie and has been able to confirm the croissant in Landry’s hand in the outdoor photo is from @patisseriebrossard which is located on Boul. de Rome in Brossard, Montreal. Hollander is generally understood to own a property near here, so this checks out. The outdoor photo itself is taken in Sansonnets Park as explained by @rodgerlarocque and @geo.clear in their own threads (go read them!). (4/7)

IF that is Rozanov’s dog then this means that maybe Hollander and Rozanov are genuinely friends, and that sometimes he dog sits his friends dog. A second round of #LandryLeaks seem to confirm that Rozanov was PRESENT with Landry and her ex-boyfriend Shane Hollander in the photos from the first round of leaks.

This begs the question, what were this strange trio doing hanging out together?

There has been a lot of speculation about our relationship to one another over the past two months. It had obviously not been our intention, nor our friend Rose’s intention, for the photos of us with Rose to be in the public realm. Like everything in the documents released in the invasion of Rose’s privacy in May and June this year, those were personal photographs that nobody had any right to publish online.

After time to consider how we wanted to disclose our relationship, we would like to announce, officially that we have been in a committed, romantic relationship for several years and that, as of two days ago, we are married.

We hope this will put an effective end to any speculation about our relationship and our friendship with Rose, who did her best to maintain our privacy despite wanting to keep reminders of the times we could all spend together.

For a lot of people we know that our relationship will be difficult to accept and understand. We have never let our personal relationship interfere with our competitiveness on the ice, and we believe our career achievements show that very clearly. We’ve always kept personal and professional separate as players and competitors, and have enjoyed the challenge of playing against one another. We are now looking forward to the opportunity to play on the same team, and we hope we will continue to have the support of our fans and the league as we do so.

Fuck me, these social media fics take so much work. I’m tired as hell; those of you who do the fully coded ones as well are clearly superstars.

Sorry that the hackers weren’t caught within the time-frame of this story. I considered it but to have everything all resolve within July felt fake and forced. Instead, the hackers unfortunately have one further victim in August, and are finally caught and stopped in October.

Also, let me tell you why I changed the name of Ottawa’s arena. Because I looked it up and at first was like oh Canadian Tire Centre isn’t the nicest name is it – brings to mind Springfield Tire Yard from the Simpsons. And I thought – fairly, I say – that it was the name of a brand of tyres ‘Canadian’ brand tire. That you go to the tyre fitting place and say I’d like ‘Canadian Tire’ tyre please. I looked it up. I cannot explain to you the odyssey I went on as I discovered this is the name of a department store. A department store. Sure, there’s tyres on sale. But. Also. They sell trampolines. Microwaves. CANADIAN TIRE. My Google became littered with queries such as ‘canadian tire name why’ and ‘canadian tire what sell’ and ‘canadian tire not just tires why’. And at that point I thought, you know what, I can’t handle this, I am just renaming the arena for my fic. I cannot think about CANADIAN TIRE DEPARTMENT STORE TRAMPOLINE SELLER MICROWAVE PURVEYORS LUGGAGE AND SUITCASES FOR YOUR TRAVEL NEEDS right now. Outstanding. What a store. I’ve mostly recovered from the rollercoaster ride of it all now I think.
