Let's see, it all began back in 2011? That was Shane's first ASG and a whole new world of ships were born. Previously, Shane's biggest ship was with Hayden Pike (#35 on the Montreal Voyageurs, Shane's teammate and first-line winger), with other notable ships being with: • JJ Boiziau (#16 on the Montreal Voyageurs, defenceman) • Sorren Miitka (#1 on the Montreal Voyageurs, goalie) Because of AGS 2011, Shane was seen with other major stars like: • Ilya Rozanov (#81 on the Boston Bears, fellow center) • Scott Hunter (#21 on the New York Admirals, center) • Carter Vaughan (#19 on the New York Admirals, winger) Fans of Shane went crazy with a sudden influx of bromantic and not-so bromantic moments alike. All of the fans of the ships with the abovementioned names went crazy. If you're wondering why I'm talking about ships when Anon asked about Jane... we'll get there. After ASG 2011, a whole lot of new fans joined, all discussing their favorite ships. QUICK DISCLAIMER before we go on: Hollander Museum is strictly neutral, so please don't try to drag me into drama about this. I do not care about ship wars. I will block you without hesitation. Moving on. While Shayden (Shane x Hayden) was, and has remained, extremely popular, Hollanov (Hollander x Rozanov) quickly rose in the ranks. If you're wondering why people ship it, there are plenty of posts that go into detail - this post however will not. In any case, the rise of Hollanov is what is widely believed caused Jane to join Tumblr. Her earliest posts are all ones that are obviously anti-Hollanov. To give a few examples: I actually kind of agree with her on that last one, though Hollanov fanartists are certainly not the only ones who've made some questionably racist art. Anyway. Jane made these and other posts over the span of a few days before falling silent. Her posts were not met with much attention at first. However, after the first Voyageurs game after ASG, where the well-loved Shayden duo were back on the ice together, Shayden fans found Jane's posts and flooded her notifcations with agreement. (Anon, you said you're new to the fandom - surely you know this already, but just in case, Shaydens and Hollanovs are mortal enemies. They've only ever banded together once, to protest the small but vocal group of Dallander shippers. Yes, that is Dallas Kent x Shane Hollander.) According to screenshots and first-hand accounts, Jane intially seemed to agree with and communicate pleasantly with the Shayden shippers. Unfortuantely, directly following this time was one of many waves of hate against Jackie Pike, Hayden Pike's wife. Over the years, she has faced all kinds of allegations such as being Hayden's beard, blackmailing him, using him for money, and their children being dolls, amongst many many MANY other campaigns. (I am neutral about shipping, but not about sending hate to the partners of those Shane is shipped with. Be kind to Jackie Pike!) Jane saw this disgusting hate train, and immediately turned on Shayden, no longer making anti-Hollanov but anti-Shayden posts. If you look at her account, you'll see YEARS of Shayden shippers sending her asks that, in turns, try to get her to 'see the light' and claim the Jackie-haters are just the bad apples, or send her hateful messages that attack her personally. I say this with nothing but respect: Jane is one cold son of a bitch. She chirps better than some actual hockey players. (I want to make a compilation post, but I need more examples! If you have some, please send them my way.) Since 2011, she has been an ardent hater of Shayden, meticulously breaking down arguments from all across the board and explaining why their 'proof' is not actually proof at all. It's glorious to see, and it's made her a household name in the Shane Hollander fandom. She seems to only come online to prove Shayden is not real, before she leaves us for weeks at a time doing whatever boss bitch job she must have. Some examples of her anti-Shayden posts: God, I love her. Jane, if you see this, I'm obsessed with you. Okay, you may be wondering why the whole fandom knows her if she's only an anti-Shayden. Well, she's not exactly ONLY anti-Shayden. It's a little complicated. She still hates Hollanov, though instead of arguing with shippers, she simply blocks everyone in sight. Have you liked a post about Hollanov? Blocked. Vaguely mentioned it in the notes of a gif post? Blocked. Blatantly gone into her inbox telling her it's real and she's being Russo-phobic? Yes, someone has really done that, and they were BLOCKED. Hollanov shippers have tried to engage with Jane on every level - pretending to hate the ship, openly loving it, asking her for one of her detailed proof posts that it's not real, etc etc etc, you name it, they've tried it - but she simply refuses. There are unconfirmed but largely believed rumors that Jane occassionally unblocks Hollanov shippers, but only in the middle of the night OR after large Hollanov events (e.g. after ASG 2017 and Shane's injury last year in a Montreal v Boston game), though they are swiftly blocked again. I have never seen concrete proof of this, but it's worth mentioning, because if you're interested in Hollanov at all, you will hear everyone talk about this. Shippers claim that she secretly ships Hollanov and just can't let anyone know or it will ruin her cred. You decide. As for other ships, Jane is delightfully unhateful... sometimes! ShayJ (Shane x JJ) shippers HAVE received detailed denial posts from her, but instead of the more blunt tone she takes with Shaydens, she likes to joke with ShayJ shippers that "it COULD mean nothing. it probably is nothing. but who can say. JJ is hot" and "Shane Hollander told me himself that JJ's straight but i don't know if i believe him". Huntlander (Hunter x Hollander) shippers sometimes get into arguments with her, but other times come together as friends, namely with Jane posting pro-Hunter posts following his coming out in the 2017 Playoffs. Jane also actually, openly likes one ship, and that is Hollandry (Hollander x Rose Landry, A-list actress and his former girlfriend). She posts gifsets from all of Rose Landry's movies, often putting in the notes lengthy compliments and the occassional "Shane didn't deserve you". While other shippers have come to Jane's inbox to claim Shane is gay (to clarify, he has never spoken on his sexuality. We don't know what he identifies as), Rose fans have also flocked to Jane's account as she is seemingly the only person who cares about both Rose Landry's movies AND the actress' hockey-playing brothers' careers. Once, Jane was asked about her favorite Shane ship, and she said "i only know of one, the canonical hollandry". Alongside all of this, Jane is known as a prolific hockey fan and is willing to explain any question anyone has about the game. Even the really stupid ones, though she will probably tell you you're dumb. She knows so much trivia it's scary. She also occassionally horny posts about "big, beefy tops" before apologizing and deleting all the evidence in the morning. Some people think she actually does know Shane Hollander, which is its own conspiracy theory that I can get to on another post because this one is getting long. If you're reading this you probably asked me to cover her. I avoided it for days but you all wore me down. SO FINE! Here we go. Disclaimer, I am a Shane Hollander blog. Lily From Boston (henceforth just Lily or LFB if I'm feeling fancy, I cannot type that whole name out every single time) is both a Shane Hollander hater and lover, so I only know about her in regards to our shared interest. Lily's also thirsty AF so be warned if you're one of those boy mom fans who don't like when people sexualize Shane Hollander. Second disclaimer, this is going to be a mess. I'm warning you now, I'm writing this at 4 AM because I seriously got almost a hundred requests for this. Please bear with me, I don't have an outline like normal. First things first. Who is LFB? She's a mid-20s Twitter user with the handle of @/lilhollander81. Or something like that, it changes a lot. That was her first username, but she keeps getting banned. Why? Read on, gentle Tumblr user, and you will completely understand. We should all be very glad she's not on this platform. Probably the most important thing to know about her is that she hates Shayden, and Shayden shippers, and is an ardent Hollanov shipper. The second most important thing to know is that she doxxes people. Yes. Unlike dear sweet asshole Jane, who will just verbally tear Shaydens's arguments to shreds before moving on with her life, LFB goes personal. Now TO BE FAIR, I have personally seen Lily ignore Shayden shippers many times. A lot of the people she's doxxed have specifically gotten into fights with her and said rude shit themselves. But still. Hollander Museum does not condone doxxing for any reason, but especially because of ship wars. ANYWAY SORRY I feel like I'm getting off track here. But I can't be blamed. LFB is an enigma wrapped in a mystery zipped up inside a suitcase of nuance and weirdness. Let's get into the actual history of this account. She first appeared on Twitter around the same time as Jane did here, actually. ASG 2011 truly has set hundreds, perhaps thousands, of HRPF ships asail. Her first tweets were pretty tame, though they were half complimentary of Ilya Rozanov (#81, Captain of the Boston Bears), and half anti-Scott Hunter (#21, Captain of the New York Admirals). Examples: As an aside, I want to be clear that no one really knows why she doesn't like Scott Hunter? Hunter is a pretty milquetoast white guy who's never had any scandals, and is in fact known for being a trailblazer in the hockey world. (LFB has made ONE single pro-Hunter tweet, immediately following his coming out. Lily is kind of an evil witch but she's not homophobic!) But if you ever scroll through her account, you will find a lot of posts like this - they've gotten more eloquent as time has passed. I'm not going to focus much on that, because it's not the most interesting thing about Lily From Boston. Let's move on. The reason I called her an enigma is that she is just, so confusing. She's a Rozanov stan but she claps back at people who speak badly about Shane. There's literally a tweet out there where she said "I can insult him, you can't". And when pressed on this, she explained that she "knows what critiques he needs", and listed his backhand as one of those things. (His famously powerful backhand.... Alright, girl.) As I've heard it, fellow Rozanov stans treat her with some indulgence. I've got screenshots of her converting MULTIPLE Rozanov stans into "Hollander neutrals", but most of them kind of just... enjoy the clown show, I think. One thing I will say is that Lily and her friends are all loud about calling out any racism leveled against Shane. If anyone ever tells you there's no good Rozanov fans out there, just know they're lying! On the other side of the rivalry, Hollander antis (especially ones who are also Rozanov stans) have often tried to get her to agree with them over the years. She refuses. In her own words, Hollander is "boring" and "laced too tight" and "the second best hockey player ever", but as an example, when antis make comments on his flat affect in pressers, Lily is the first one to defend him. She also has contradicted herself and spoken highly of Shane's backhand, lol. Here's an example of her reveling in confusing everyone: She has never explained why she seems to both love and hate Shane. Or why she has insinuated multiple times that she personally knows him.... Most people don't believe that to be true, btw, but it's worth mentioning. Instances have ramped up since ASG 2017, so if anything, it's a more recent development. Which brings me to my next point, which is that she also thirst tweets about Shane. I only mention this because it's another way that she confuses everyone around her. Like sure, some Rozanov fans will talk about Shane being attractive even if they don't like him, but Lily is on another level. She also likes to drunk-post horny things like Jane, but instead of 'beefy tops' it's more like 'Shane's freckles' and 'Shane's back dimples' and 'Shane's feet'. One time she @'d him and mentioned her superior head game. Also she doesn't delete them, these tweets just exist on her public profile(s). Also also, she gets mad when people respond and agree with her. (Hollander Museum tries to be neutral on most things, but I have to break character for a second. Lily is not a good person but she's also really fucking funny. I can't help it, okay!) Anyway, I'm going to move on, or else I'll be here all day talking about her shameless crush on Shane. Here's what a lot of you are probably wondering about: Why does she hate Shaydens so much? Great question! No one knows. Okay, that's not true. It's not clear where the hatred started, but it's obvious why it's continued for so long. Lily is the self-proclaimed #1 Hollanov shipper, even going so far as to say she prefers Shane/Ilya over Shane/Lily. (Yes, seriously, she said that.) She is very proud of her ship being "the better ship", and she hates not just Shayden, but Huntander (Hunter x Hollander), Hollandry (Hollander x Rose Landry), ShayJ (Shane x JJ), Dallander (Dallas Kent x Hollander), Shamaire (Shane x Lemaire), Barrander (Barrett x Hollander, Sharren (Shane x Sorren), etc. She has not only fought in but CAUSED many ship wars. Shaydens in particular hate her. They have gotten into many spats over the years. Lily is not shy about hating on Shayden, and Hayden Pike himself, often calling him names like "the fifteenth best player". I'm not going to put examples here, because I don't even know where I'd start - she has been posting this kind of tweet for years. Obviously she doesn't just stop at hate tweets. Lily has doxxed several Shaydens. I do not condone this at all. LFB has not done this for years and has apologized, but she DID do it, and it caused a lot of stress and trauma for those affected fans. Ship wars are NEVER an excuse to doxx another person. I'm not going to share any exact details of this publicly, but I'm willing to go a little deeper in DMs for anyone curious. However, as I said above, I have also seen Lily ignore Shaydens, especially more recently. This has lead some shippers to antagonize her on purpose, which is also not okay. I'm talking about purposefully being in her mentions, replies, etc hyping their ship and hating on her in personal ways, like attacking her English and calling her delusional, among other things. This kind of behavior has ramped up since Hollander and Rozanov announced their joint charity. Unfortunately, Twitter is a cesspit and no one is innocent. Anyway, I think that's about it.
