Summary

John Cook: Hollander keeps possession of the puck as Rozanov checks Cameron out of Hollander's way, and... Hollander scores! What a beaut of a goal that was!

Patrick Colt: [laughing] I don’t think the opposition know what to do with themselves against Rozanov and Hollander. 

[Ilya Rozanov skates round to where Shane Hollander is standing. Hollander has a wide grin on his face after the recent goal. 

Rozanov collides into Hollander, hugging him jokily and leaning to plant a wet his on Hollander’s helmet. However, at the last second, Hollander turns to look at Rozanov. 

Their lips meet in a kiss.

The two break apart instantly and stare at each other in horror.]

Jack Saad: Oh. That’s… Hmm.

John Cook: [spluttering] Erm-

Patrick Colt: [faintly] Huh. Well. That’s not something you see everyday.

this fic is inspired by the amazing idea by HunnybeeMarie, who left this comment on my previous fic: "Maybe a funny one could be at the 2017 All Stars game, when Ilya goes to kiss Shane's helmet, Shane turns his head and they accidentally kiss on the mouth lol 🤣 Just off the top of my head haha"

Jack Saad: Yes, well, Pat, I think it's safe to say we’ll all come away from this wanting Rozanov and Hollander on the same line.

Patrick Colt: You’re a hundred percent right on that one, Jack. Unfortunately, I don’t think Hollander would mesh very well with the Bears aggressive style of play.

John Cook: Very true. Hollander is a strategist who favours speed. He almost never fights. The Bears favour force. It just wouldn't work.

Patrick Colt: Besides, I don’t think Rozanov would be too happy to play wing every game. Or give up his captain title. 

John Cook: Very true. 

Jack Saad: God, did you see that! Another flawless pass from Rozanov to Hollander, utilising that backwards manoeuvre to throw the opposition off the scent until it's almost too late! They truly are in each other's heads. It's impressive how two rivals can almost read each other's minds, but I suppose that's what happens when you play against each other for almost a decade.
