Summary

> Scott @ing all the non-homophobic teams is really funny though. I cant imagine the hockey fandom reacting to essentially a list of chill teams as made by the one out player.

Twitter's reaction to Scott calling out the MLH for homophobia

Notes

This is based on a comment in This is Not Enough from Edgedancer, to whom this fic is a lil' gift.

@HunterScott

Thank you to the teams that have reached out and already pledged. You are making the sport better for everyone.
We, the players, are the face of this organisation.
We can change the game for everyone if we want.
@NYAdmirals @OttawaCentaurs @BostonBears @BuffaloBroads @PhoenixCoyotes @LAQueens @HoustonDrillers @MNNomads @BrooklynScouts

@LaitchLover

So, uhh, anyone else finding the way Hunter didn’t mention their team really noticeable? #HunterShortlist

→ @EverymanHoz

Nine teams out of a 32 team league is not great, so glad to see my @HoustonDrillers made the cut #HunterShortlist

→ @Puckingwhat

@TorontoGuardians is this why @PRyan quit hockey? #HunterShortlist

→ @HollzBlueLine

Can’t believe I live in the gayest city in Canada and @MTLVoyageurs can’t even make the ‘okay to be gay’ shortlist @SHollanderHockeyPlayer get your shit together #HunterShortlist

→ → @RozyDayz

Didn’t he invite @HunterScott to his charity camp? I don’t think he’s homophobic

→ → → @HollzBlueLine

Then why didn’t he pledge?

→ → → → @PuckStan

Have you seen how they’ve been playing this year? Something hinky is going on with Hollander’s game. Maybe it’s related?

@RozyDayz

So pleased to see my man @IlyaRozanov with both the @BostonBears and @OttawaCentaurs in the #HunterShortlist

→ @givenopucks

Dude he’s russian you can’t trust those fuckers they all hate fags

→ → @HollzBlueLine

Wow, way to be racist AND homophobic good job, blocked.

→ → @GreatBigFish

Yeah because no gay people have ever been born russian get a fucking grip

@SaintsOfPuck

Anyone wanna swap teams I don't wanna be a broad any more they're all woke shits

→ @veeweeJock

Fuck you I'll have Buffalo then you can take the dickhead Voyageurs #HunterShortlist

→ → @PuckStan

@veeweeJock so glad to see you get a team with a great attitude, gutted that you had to drop the Voyageurs for it

@ZimBits

Reminder to everyone that there could be (and likely are) queer players on many of the teams that didn’t pledge. Thoughts go out to them.

→ @HolsterInLaw

I played all through college with a guy who’s boyfriend was also on the team. That man now plays professionally. The #HunterShortlist is not the whole story of queer hockey.

→ → @Geronimum

Being an ally makes it safer for queer players to come out, but it’s still not safe. I’m not surprised there are more.

→ → @lilylover24

There are teams out there even gayer than @NYAdmirals they just don’t show off #HunterShortlist

→ → → @PuckStan

@lilylover24 what do you know?? This is both sweet and ominous…

→ → → → @lilylover24

would be telling

@Pace_Off_Puckers

Last Metros game of the regular season and I think I can see why they’re not on the #HunterShortlist god this sport is toxic and @SHollanderHockeyPlayer looks miserable

→ @Geronimum

What the hell did you see?

→ → @Pace_Off_Puckers

Oh just the normal amount of hockey homophobia bullshit when they were coming off the ice. The blessing and curse of being so close to the bench.

→ → → @PuckStan

I’ve been a fan of @MTLVoyageursfor over forty years and the world has changed but hockey has not.

→ → → → @PuckingWhat

Always proud to be an @OttawaCentaurs fan, and still proud today 🏳️‍🌈

→ → → → → @PuckStan

Rub it in don’t you.
