I do think OP is either crazy or fucking with us, but I checked their post history and they definitely at least live in Ottawa, they post all the time in the UOttawa subreddit. That being said, it’s a little bit suspicious Rozanov hasn’t re-signed with Boston yet. They're running out of time to give him an eighth year. 

Still, if he’s holding out for a ton of money, I don’t know if the Cens will be the ones to pony up.

I think Ilya Rozanov is going to sign with the Cens

Ok I know it sounds crazy but hear me out. I’m a server at Play downtown and we sometimes get Cens management or players there for dinner, plus we’ve hosted some events for them in the past. The Cens’ GM and his wife came in yesterday and about halfway through dinner, he got up to take a phone call. Which makes sense, that’s his job, and I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop (it’s pretty noticeable tbh if you’re just standing close to a guest…) but I overheard him a couple times. Notably he said “holy shit” a bunch, but he also said “he really wants to leave Boston?” like, audibly loud, enough that a couple people waiting by the hostess stand also heard. Sounded super surprised, too. 

I know it isn’t a lot to go on but Boston’s only UFAs are Rozano and Victor St-Simon and I don’t think St-Simon is worth interrupting dinner for…

EDIT: I’m not going to give you guys proof of employment at the restaurant. What would I even post? A photo of my order pad and apron?

rozy isnt that bad actually….theres been a few in my time tho. when McDow played for us before he went to ny he had this whole order to put on his gear and he had to play a specific song and drink blue gatorade 7 minutes before the game.

outside of winning the cup probably one of my favorite hockey memories….totally blacked out scoring. remember Oksanen and I had the breakaway and I knew I could beat the goalie glove side….next thing I remember is the goal horn and celebrating with the boys. go Terriers!

honestly im blessed to be able to play in the MHL! outside of playing on home ice i always like playing in nyc whether were playing the admirals or the scouts. the boys and i have a lot of fun exploring restaurants if we have an off day in manhattan. least favorite….probably winnipeg. nothing against the city itself just dont like the cold!!

OTTAWA - Ilya Rozanov is betting on Ottawa.

The free agent centre signed a seven-year, $77 million contract, the team announced Friday, bringing an end to days of speculation that gripped the hockey world. The deal is worth $77 million over seven years, with an average annual value of $11 million against the salary cap.

I’m not changing my username. The Cup run was one of the best months of my life. I lost my dad three days after we won and I’m forever grateful we got to watch the Raiders win together from his hospital room. Thank you, Roz, from the bottom of my heart. You’ll always have a home, and free drinks, in Boston whether you like it or not.

Wonder if Boston refused to give a NMC or something like that. Wouldn’t put it past our management given how they treated Childers a few years back and now he’s on a great deal down in Philly because they were willing to give him a no trade. I know it's different for a goalie vs a center but that actually is a point in Roz's favor.

Hi guys! Remember me, your resident Cens-spotter? I don’t work at Play anymore now that I’m in grad school, but I went for a walk by the canal yesterday and ended up walking for 10 minutes behind Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander. I didn’t actually hear anything (had my AirPods in) and didn’t want to disturb them (first, they've been through a lot lately and second, they were holding hands and walking their dog! Super cute) but I just had a feeling…
