I don't think it's crazy, but definitely proceed with caution. The league hasn't been great, but they can't do anything overt. Crowell himself called me and basically said to not be too loud about the gay stuff. But they have no way to enforce that.
NY management has been supportive. And my contract is solid. Team has also been mostly supportive, only a few homophobes and they've been pretty quiet.
I will say, the ice has been rough.
