Shane wasn't going to download Grindr. He really wasn't. But Rozanov hasn't replied in months, and Shane feels like shit, and sue him for wanting to feel fucking wanted.
After the LA game, Shane calls an Uber to Bryan's place. It's maybe a little bit stupid, and he can hear Scott fucking Hunter's voice in his head that terrifying day he confronted Shane about Rozanov to be careful, Hollander, and being gay in this league is shit, but you'll survive it and you can find hookups, just don't be fucking recognized, but Bryan's profile looks as anonymous as Shane's, and he's just horny enough to risk it.
Again, it's been months since Rozanov replied. He's been getting off to cheap porn and fading memories for too long.

"Yeah, I'm serious," Richards replies. "I think every guy in the league wants to fuck Shane Hollander."
Shane scoffs. "Yeah, right."
"No, I'm serious. Even the straight ones."
"You're not going to like, tell anyone, right?" Shane hopes that it's implied, but needs to hear it.
"Definitely not. So are we gonnaโฆ"
Shane nods, then follows Richards inside. He toes his shoes off, then drops to his knees and reaches to unbutton Richard's jeans.
"Holy shit, I have a bedroom, you know," Richards gasps, but Shane's already taken him into his mouth. "Oh, Jesus Christ, that's fucking good."
He can't help but wish Richards' dick was Rozanov's, but that's normal, he's sure. He's just used to something a bit longer and thicker, and maybe he likes the way Rozanov grabs his hair and fucks his face, but that's normal that Richards isn't doing that, it's fine, they just don't know each other like that.

"Good for you," Hunter sighs. He hesitates, and then, "You don't have to, in New York. If you don't want to."
"What?" Shane's eyebrows furrow.
Hunter's voice lowers all the way down. "If you want something in New York. You can come to my place."
Hunter's place is nice. Spacious, huge windows, gorgeous design.
And, yeah. Hunter is gorgeous, and calm, and confident. "Do you want to top tonight? Or bottom?" Shane's eyebrows raise. He hadn't needed to think about it, with Rozanov. And on Grindr, it was very clear. "Or neither, Hollander, we don't have to do anything."
"No, I want to," Shane hurries to reply. "Um, I'll bottom."
God, Hunter definitely knows what he's doing. There's no- passion. Or spark. But that's normal, and fine. He gets the job done, and he does it well, and Shane feels good, and normal about it, and he's happy.

Barrett winces. "Sorry. You know. Kent."
"I don't really, but okay."

Shane doesn't like Barrett, but he's hot. And his stickhandling tonight wasโฆ impressive. "Sure."
It's good. Barrett's rough with him, and fucks his face, and rails him hard. It's good, really. Shane doesn't even think about Rozanov, except for the times that he does.
2015-2016
Shane's starting to wonder if Grindr has a secret "gay hockey player" setting. Because it's not just Richards, or Barrett. In Seattle, it's Kowie. In Tampa, it's Burke. In Buffalo, it's Stetlund. In Vegas, it's Bryson. In Vancouver, it's Gehret. In Detroit, it's Banks.
And like, sure, maybe he only hooks up with guys who are intentionally being anonymous, guys whose pictures hide their face, guys who are muscular. It kind of makes sense. But in each new city he tries, it's becoming rarer to find a hookup that isn't a hockey player.
Shane deletes the app. Because, really, he doesn't need it anymore. He's got hookups in half of the cities he travels to, and they're all closeted hockey players, so. No risk. He won't out them, they won't out him.
Sometimes they ask to hook up when they're in Montreal for games. Shane always says no.

Shane grimaces; swallows the bite of his sandwich. "I mean, yes?"
Rozanov looks doubtful. "You like sex with girls?"

"I like girls, but I also like you," Rozanov says, looking meaningful. Shane's not sure what he's trying to convey.

Rozanov winces, almost imperceptibly. "You have guy in every city?" This time it comes off mocking.
"I mean, some cities, yeah. Not every city. Don't you have a girl in every city?"
Rozanov waves his hand, shooing away the idea. "They don't matter."
"Are youโฆ mad?" Shane asks, incredulous. "That I sleep with other people? You definitely sleep with more people than me."
"Yes, but I don't care about the other people I sleep with," Rozanov snaps.
"Okay, well I don't really care about the other people I sleep with either. What's the difference?"
"I am trying to say, I would fuck only you, not them!" Rozanov shouts, then curls into himself. "Nevermind. Forget it."
"Wait, are you serious?" Rozanov doesn't answer, doesn't look at him, so he moves to sit on Rozanov's lap. Shane grabs his face, makes him look. "Iโฆ would fuck only you, too. I wanted that. I wanted to be with only you after our first time, and then you fucking ghosted me for ages."
Rozanov winces again. "So, it is too late. You do not want this anymore."
Shane adjusts his hand, cupping Rozanov's jaw gently. "If you're serious, then, yeah. I do want this."
"You want this," Rozanov repeats softly, not quite a question.
"I want you," Shane clarifies. "I've only wanted you."
